Abstract

We present a model of off-shell dual amplitudes satisfying duality, factorization, absence of exotics, having no unphysical singularities and reproducing the N-point function of the conventional dual model on the mass shell. These off-shell amplitudes can be identified with currents, however, the s-channel asymptotic behaviour of the Compton off-shell amplitude yields only moving poles but no fixed poles. Further, the Bjorken limit at t = 0 yields scaling behaviour, but with anomalous dimension, at the expense of having Gaussian form factors. This suggests that a pure current-hadron bootstrap scheme based on the quarkless conventional dual model describes a too soft structure to be able to incorporate fixed poles, canonical scaling and power-behaved form factors.
