Abstract

The Environmental Education is an instrument that can contribute to the achievement of sustainable development through programs or school projects. This article illustrates the activities undertaken by 14 students, with ages among 10 to 13 years, in the Social Action Department of Colegio Cruzeiro, RJ, related to the topic Garbage in the year 2007. The analysis concluded that the development of the project provided students a major changing in the perception of waste, as the construction of an ecological awareness.
