Abstract

The effect upon nodulation of lime-pelleting inoculated lupin and serradella seed has been examined in four localities and three growing seasons. Altogether, three adhesive solutions, four bacterial strains, and three leguminous species have been used in the experiments. The lime coat has markedly reduced the nodulation of these plants in all cases. Attention is drawn to the value of certain adhesives in maintaining higher numbers of viable bacteria on inoculated seed.
