Abstract

A reduced graphene oxide (rGO) modified BiOCl/Co-doped SrFe12O19 (BSCG) composite is compounded via a simple one-step hydrothermal approach successfully. The results of XPS proved the successful preparation of BSCG. The results of XRD, FTIR, SEM, TEM and EDS showed that the modification of rGO led to the reduction of crystal size and tighter bonding of combination, and the rGO thin film is evenly distributed on the surface. The results of UV–vis DRS, TPR, EIS and PL indicated that the introduction of rGO can reduce the bandgaps and boost the charge transfer efficiency. Under simulate sunlight, the RhB degradation rate exceeded 94% in 80 min for the BSCG and the photocatalytic properties of BSCG is increased by approximate 10% compared to BSC. In addition, the modified magnetic composite exhibits more excellent magnetic stability. After four times of recycling, the RhB degradation is still over 85%. Furthermore, the possible catalytic mechanism of BSCG in the reaction process is discussed.
