Abstract

The results presented in the paper allow to solve environmental problems arising from the disposal of waste (bagasse and defecate) of sugar beet production. Experimental data of soil fertility indicators of leached chernozems are presented: moisture, soil acidity, nutrient content during utilization of sugar beet pulp and defecate in agrocenoses compared with the background of mineral fertilizers. The most favorable abiotic conditions were formed on the variants of pulp application at a dose of 50 t/ha in autumn. It was revealed that the increase in the acidity of leached chernozem after the introduction of pulp is of a short-term nature. Using defecate together with manure stabilizes the acidity to a level of 6.0–6.2, maintaining this value for a long period (10–12 years). At the same time, the yield of winter wheat was practically the same as the crop gained according to the traditional for the Central Black Earth Region technology. Thus, the possibility of using wastes as fertilizers has been established, which solves the ecological problem of their utilization and, as a consequence, the problem of increasing the fertility of arable land.
