Abstract

Preview Recurrent bacterial meningitis can be caused by acquired or congenital gross anatomic defects, foci of infection, or disorders in immune mechanisms. The diagnosis of occult sinus fracture can be a challenge and, as in the patient described here, requires a high index of suspicion when a child has a remote history of head injury and repeated episodes of meningitis.
