Abstract Justification of Biographies: On a Theological Theory of the Church Family Rites. An integrated theological theory of baptisms, confirmations, weddings and funerals in their similarities has to take the factual biography-oriented desires of the families into account. Interpreting the situation as a question of how and to which extent a biography can be justified, makes use of the theology of justification by faith in Christ. The Christian gospel of justification is in touch with the desires, yet also provides a critical as well as relieving counterpart in staging a family biography on such occasions.
