Abstract

Abstract Financial derivatives market has become very popular with the trigger of the most destructive financial crisis since the Great Depression of 1929. There were many voices who stated that these instruments have been guilty for the market disturbances. Maybe not the derivatives themselves have caused the recent crisis but their regulation and their use. Therefore, regulators have become concerned in identifying gaps in the existing laws and regulations and proposing solutions in this regard. The regulatory reform on OTC derivatives market has already an impact on market volume and structure. The aim of this paper is to present a review of the most recent actions and decisions of regulatory authorities in the field.
