Abstract

This chapter aims to present an overview of the developments in family business coaching with particular attention to innovative coaching practices for family businesses. The definitive practice for coaching psychology is blended with other sub-disciplines, such as counselling, clinical, health, sports, and occupational psychology; therefore, more novel and dynamic coaching practices for family businesses can be expected. Unlike any other coaching practices, family business coaching practice is embedded within an interdisciplinary context. The burning question is whether family business coaching is for family businesses seeking an intervention for the sustainable growth of business. Family business coaching encompasses multiple factors and involves complex interactions between family dynamics and business functions. The future of family business coaching from a coaching psychology perspective is still in the developmental stage, although family business coaching in general has been an ongoing practice in the business world.
