Abstract
Building an entrepreneurial university requires an efficient innovation ecosystem, in which technology transfer services at universities are of particular importance. In Polish conditions, the role of special purpose vehicles is growing, which are established to conduct indirect commercialization processes, which means the establishment of new business entities in order to implement the results of scientific research, called spin-offs. The author's research focused on a case study of a selected special purpose vehicle operating at a medical university and spin-offs established by it, as well as those entities that are at an advanced stage of establishment. The aim of the research was to determine the reasons for the involvement of scientists in the processes of indirect commercialization.
