Abstract

Nominally pure near-stoichiometric LiNbO3 crystals are grown by Czochralski method from the congruent melt with addition of 11 mol% K2O. The photorefractive properties of strongly reduced near-stoichiometric LiNbO3 crystals are studied, and fast photorefractive buildup time (191 ms) and erasure time (78 ms) are observed at an intensity of 1.3 W/cm2. As we known, so fast response speed is firstly observed in nominally pure LiNbO3 crystals.
