Abstract

Abstract Reactions of a chromium complex, featuring a Cr≡Si triple bond, with alkynes and butadiene were investigated. The former reaction yielded 4-membered metallasilacycles with a homoaromatic character through [2+2] cycloaddition, while the latter reaction afforded silacyclopentenyl complexes through [2+4] cycloaddition.
