RESUMO Este artigo analisa o relatório Reimaginar nosso futuro juntos, publicado pela Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (Unesco) em 2021. Evocando um futuro justo, sustentável e pacífico, o relatório propõe reformas no currículo, na formação docente e na organização escolar. Recomenda a aproximação da educação não formal e informal à formal, apoiando o setor privado como provedor de serviços públicos. Ainda, desqualifica a escola pública e a universidade como instituições formadoras e incentiva o crescimento da indústria educacional global. Assim, atribui novo significado à escola e ao trabalho docente, visando assegurar as condições de produção e reprodução social capitalistas.
