Abstract

Jar tests were used to determine the rapid-mixing, velocity gradient (G) and detention time (t), for optimum coagulation of suspended solids from dilute beef cattle, poultry and swine manure slurries being treated with ferric iron salts or chitosan. Design values are given for all manure-chemical combinations.
