Abstract

A rapid enzyme immunoassay based on the initial rate of immunoreaction was developed using a Salmonella antigen-antibody system. Salmonella lipopolysaccharide-coated polyester cloth was instantaneously exposed to goat anti-Salmonella antibody standards and the captured antibody was assayed colourimetrically using an anti-goat antibody-peroxidase conjugate. The colour intensity was proportional to the antibody concentration, thus providing a rapid and quantitative assay for antibodies
