Abstract

1. The Raman spectra of the following ortho-substituted benzene derivatives, containing silicon, were taken: (o-xylyl)trimethylsilane, 3,4-benzo-1,1-dimethylsilacyclohexane and 3,4-benzo-1,1-dimethylsilacyclopentane. 2. The presence of a silicon atom β to the multiple bond of the benzene ring in compound (III), in contrast to (I) and (II), does not cause an increase in the integral intensity of the line with a frequency of 1610 cm−1 and the appearance of exaltation of the molecular refraction.
