Abstract

Some radiation detectors, using Cerenkov radiator or plastic scintillator, operate at very high dose rates. The accumulated dose greatly affects their performance. In fast and high gamma pulse environments, detector linearity is of great concern. In this paper we give some results that show the discrepancy which occurs when the transient radiation-induced attenuation is too high. We also give a model that can be used to determine maximum dose values for gamma pulse measurements and to correct spoiled data. >
