Abstract

SUMMARY The aim of this study is the modelisation of the behaviour of a railway vehicle and especially of a truck with two wheel set running on a curved track. Moreover, the contact forces at the contact point are investigated and will be defined from Kalker's theory. The relative position parameter equations are established, solved and numerically exploited in order to calculate the contact forces. The comparison of these results with those obtained from experimentation turns out to be correct.
