Abstract
O presente artigo procura analisar o livro Quarto de Despejo, obra de Carolina Maria de Jesus, tendo como foco a temática étnico racial, pois entendemos que é na superação das barreiras raciais que residirá uma sociedade mais plural, que entenda que diferença não está relacionada com desigualdade ou desnível social. Atentando-nos a alguns excertos dessa obra, que faz referência ao elemento branco é que intentaremos discutir a visão do branco em relação a si mesmo.
