Abstract

We trace signatures of quantum chaos in thedistribution of nodal points and streamlines for coherentelectron transport through different types of quantum dots(chaotic and regular). We have calculated normalizeddistribution functions for the nearest distances between nodalpoints and found that this distribution may be used as asignature of quantum chaos for electron transport in opensystems. Different chaotic billiards show the same characteristicdistribution function for nodal points. This signature ofquantum chaos is well reproduced using well known approachesfor chaotic wavefunctions. We have also investigated thequantum flows which display some remarkable features.
