Abstract

The setting up of a quantitative research project on Agreed Syllabuses in three local education authorities is described. Practical obstacles and difficulties are outlined. Analysis and findings are discussed. Reflection on the whole process and on the context of educational research in the UK follows. In an era of the National Curriculum variations in local Agreed Syllabuses for RE offer a useful testing ground for educational approaches and methods.
