Abstract

The aim of this study is to offer a descriptive analysis of dermatoglyphic traits of the palm in a Spanish population on the North Mediterranean coast. We collected and studied palmar dermatoglyphics of 341 individuals (141 males and 200 females) from Delta de l'Ebre, Catalonia. Sexual and imanual differences were analyzed for several palmar traits, including, a-b ridge-count, D line modal types and pattern frequencien in the hypothenar, Thenar/I, II, III and IV palmar areas.
