Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the Quality of Life of pregnant women attending the Family Health Strategy andidentify the dimensions of Quality of Life better and worse evaluated. This is a descriptive, cross sectional study case,done in a Family Health Unit in the outskirts of Sao Bernardo do Campo. 42 women were evaluated using WHOQOLbref.The higher the score the better the assessment of Quality of Life. The scores of the domains were: Physical 57,65;Psychological 68,75; Environment 59,75; Social Relations 77,98; General 75,00. Each domain consists of a few facets,and these contributed positively or negatively t the score of the domains. The worst facets evaluated were: Energy andFatigue; Thinking, Learning, Memory and Concentration; Financial Resources; and Sexual Activity. The best aspectsevaluated were: Mobility; Positive Feelings, Body Image and Appearance; Health and Social Care; and Personal Relationships.We concluded that WHOQOL-bref is relevant as a monitoring instrument and it is, for the expansion ofprenatal care and the evaluation of quality of life during prenatal care, an important tool for an integral assistence andpregnant woman’s health promotion.
