Abstract

Abstract This chapter presents an overview of the various quality control measures deployed at each stage of the manufacturing process of advanced composite materials used in aerospace applications, from constituent materials control to process control and ultimately part consolidation controls which, in the context of advanced aerospace composites, refer principally to autoclave cure monitoring and control. The chapter then presents a summary discussion on the various destructive and nondestructive testing methods and techniques used within the framework of advanced aerospace composites quality control, and it wraps up with an overall perspective.
