Abstract

Foreword The twelfth annual RTi3 Radiation Therapy Conference was held in Toronto on March 4-5, 2016, hosted by the University of Toronto, Department of Radiation Oncology. The two-day conference, centered on the three pillars of Inquiry, Inspiration and Innovation, continues to broaden in depth as it showcases the evolving field of radiation medicine. Themed sessions such as ‘‘Guiding Practice through Imaging’’, ‘‘Brachytherapy’’, ‘‘SBRT/SABR’’, and ‘‘Quality and Safe Practice’’ reflect the current focus and future direction of practice, education, and research. RTi3 in 2016 continues to demonstrate that radiation therapists led inspirations, inquiries and innovations contributing to defining and developing radiation medicine in cancer care. As evidenced by the following abstracts, collaborations across the radiation medicine community highlight the interprofessional contribution of radiation therapists to research, education, and practice innovations. The editorial team looks forward to receiving these manuscripts for consideration for publication within the JMIRS. We are privileged to continue our partnership with the JMIRS to publish proceedings from the conference in 2016 as part of our knowledge translation strategy.
