Abstract
Objective To describe the psychological experience of the caregivers of Schizophrenia patients.Methods In-depth interview according to the qualitative description method was adopted to collect the data of 15 caregivers attending for patients with Schizophrenia and the data were analyzed using phenomenological method.Results Six themes were identified including heavy psychological burden,heavy economic burden,lack of nursing experiences,a patient-centered lack of decision-making power for themselves,lacking of knowledge about rehabilitation and positive psychological feeling.Conclusions The nurses should understand the psychological experience of the caregivers,provide them with professional assistance of family nursing and adequate social support and help patients rehabilitate more quickly.
