Abstract

Line-mixing effects have been observed with a Fourier transform spectrometer in two Q branches of the absorption spectra of CO 2, corresponding to the (20 00) I ← 01 10 and (12 20) I ← 01 10 transitions centered near 2130 and 2093 cm −1, respectively. The gas pressure was raised to 3 atm and the path lengths have been chosen in order to study the center as well as the wings of these two Q branches. Good agreement is obtained between the experimental results and computations taking line mixing into account with a phenomenological model for the relaxation matrix.
