Abstract

Abstract Modified PZT with a complex perovskite oxide, the ternary system PbTiO3-PbZrO3-Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PZT-PZN) ceramics were prepared and their pyroelectric properties were investigated by the static and dynamic measurements. Improvements of the pyroelectric coefficient and the pyroelectric figure of merit as well as the voltage responsivity at room temperature by adding the PZN content to PZT were observed. Due to the second order nature of the FR(LT) to FR(HT) phase transition, the peak values in both the pyroelectric coefficient and the voltage responsivity without thermal hysteresis were found in this ternary system ceramics.
