Abstract
Abstract A novel procedure for the direct conversion of steroidal Δ5-3β-alcohols to the corresponding Δ4-3, 6-diketones in high yield (66 – 85%) has been achieved using pyridinium dichromate (PDC) in dimethylformamide (DMF) at room temperature.
