Abstract

A 10-year-old boy presented with fever, cough, breathing difficulty, and chest pain. He was found to have pyo-pneumothorax and treated accordingly. However, he did not respond completely to the initial treatment. Blood culture grew Pasteurellacanis, and antibiotics were changed accordingly. Finally, he got improved and was discharged after 4 weeks. On enquiring further, he was found to have a pet cat at home. This is the first report of pyo-pneumothorax caused by Pasteurellacanis in a child.
