Abstract

The goal of predictive maintenance is to eliminate total machinery breakdown. This concept is based on the observation that machinery gives advanced warning that it is in the process of failing. These warnings could be high vibration, high temperature, corrosion, debris in oil etc. This article includes two case studies based on operational experiences at the Hazira Gas Processing Complex where trouble-shooting was made possible through the use of predictive maintenance.
