Abstract
In this work, a new pulse shape structure is proposed to reduce intercarrier interference (ICI) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems with carrier frequency offset. This new pulse shape structure is a linear combination of conventional pulse shapes. The parameters of linear combination are optimized by using genetic algorithm (GA). The signal to interference ratio (SIR) analysis shows that the obtained optimum pulse shapes have better performance than conventional pulse shapes for a specific frequency offset interval.
