It has become increasingly apparent that, in spite of the multiple causes, the basic pathogenesis probably represents a hypersensitivity reaction to various antigens to which the pulmonary tissues may be exposed. A review of the literature has failed to reveal a previously reported case following inhalation of smoke fumes. The present case demonstrates certain features suggesting a delayed allergic inflammatory reaction in the pulmonary interstitial tissues.CASE REPORTA 40 year old white fireman...Bibliography1.
