Abstract
Pulmonary hypertension is a group of diseases characterized by a progressive increase in pulmonary vascular resistance, which leads to right ventricular failure and premature death. Pulmonary hypertension has a severe course with a pronounced decrease in physical endurance and leads to heart failure. It was first identified by Dr. Ernst von Romberg in 1891.
