Abstract

Systematic presentation of psychopathological syndromes in epilepsy makes evident that the preoccupation with these phenomena is important to clarify essential problems in general psychiatry. There is a division into reversible and irreversible psycho-pathological syndromes. The different complexes of symptoms can nevertheless overlap. There is no nosologic specificity of psychopathological phenomena in epilepsy, which corresponds to general psychiatric experience. The division presented is to be understood as a coordinate system. The current state of development of pathological cerebral dysfunctions in an epileptic person is thus to be recorded in its course on the strength of psychopathological effects.
