Abstract

A case of agenesis of the corpus callosum is reported. Whereas most recent studies of patients with agenesis or surgical section of the corpus callosum have focused attention upon impairment of transfer of information from one hemisphere to the other, the studies reported here are particularly concerned with lowered efficiency in performing a variety of perceptual-motor tasks. Evidence is presented to underline this feature of the “deconnection syndrome”.
