Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate psychopathological and psychosomatic aspects in the sexual life of 40 women who had undergone radical hysterectomy for carcinoma of the cervix. The patients were examined during their routine follow-up visits with a testing procedure which included a clinical interview and two projective tests: the Machover test (or human body test) and the Koch test (or tree test). Through this procedure it was possible to collect psychopathological and psychosomatic data regarding the patients’ sexual lives before and after surgery.
