Abstract

Psychologist Jan Haaken interviews psychoanalyst Maureen Katz about an international conference on psychoanalysis held in Cuba in November 2005. Katz offers her impressions of the conference and the level of receptivity to psychoanalytic ideas among Cuban practitioners, as well as discussing how the broader political and economic situation of Cuba shapes mental health culture in the country.
