Abstract

Dyspnea is a very common reason for consultation in the ER, in connection with heart or lung disease in most cases. Correct diagnosis involves a medical history and a rational use of complementary tests to quickly initiate appropriate treatment. As recent therapeutic tools include the use of non-invasive ventilation and high-flow oxygen through nasal prongs. The terminal dyspnea requires a specific management to avoid unnecessary tests.
