Abstract
Integrative medicine must try to find identify areas of common ground to promote mutual understanding of the interacting health systems. Explaining cells using TCM methodology is an example of a possible harmonious interaction between TCM and Modern Medicine. Locating the cell based on evolutionary stages of pathogenic energies is a proposal that we have long outlined and it shows a better theoretical basis. The global proposal is to build a relationship of elements in this way: Taiyang-extracellular matrix; Shaoyang-plasma membrane; Yangming-cytosol; Taiyin-cytoplasmic organelles; Jueyin-intracellular communication; and Shaoyin-nucleus. Consequently, aside from being able to explain and understand multiple physiological, pathophysiological, infectious and pharmacological processes, point selection, herbal medicines and TCM formulas can be explained so assist with problems related to cell regions or cellular or subcellular functions.
