Abstract

An adaptive protection scheme for distribution systems with insertion of distributed generation is proposed, which is based on the implementation of an algorithm that automatically selects previously calculated protection settings and intentionally placed in slots, which store the relay configurations, associating them with the corresponding scenario. The algorithm was analyzed in a test system implemented in a real-time simulator and at the end, the results showed that the proposed algorithm presents superior performance than the conventional protection.
