Abstract

Perioperative hypotension has been recognized as a major risk factor for spinal cord ischemia (SCI) in patients undergoing thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). Multiple studies have supported the importance of hemodynamic augmentation to reduce the risk of SCI in this high-risk patient population. However, prophylactic postoperative vasopressor administration in TEVAR patients could yield deleterious consequences. In our study, we aimed to determine the association between prophylactic postoperative vasopressor use and 30-day mortality after TEVAR.
