Abstract
The photon fluence, the most relevant physical quantity of high-energy photon fields ( E γ > 3 MeV), has been deduced for two high-energy photon sources established at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, from the experimentally determined full-energy photon peak efficiency. The kerma in air at the point of interest of the high-energy photon sources has been evaluated from the field properties — photon energy and photon fluence. The kerma-value determined in this way is compared with the value deduced from ionometric measurements.
