Abstract

In this edition of the journal, Ruan et al. [1] report findings from a large population-based retrospective study of programmatically successfully treated adults with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) in China. The analysis included outcomes of persons treated between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2016, with follow-up until 31 December 2017 to identify recurrent tuberculosis (TB) episodes that occurred subsequent to documented cure (96.6%) or treatment completion (3.4%) for microbiologically confirmed PTB [1].
