Abstract

:This article describes the authors' experience with an approach to partnering. It describes lessons learned while facilitating partnering on large-scale construction projects and an assortment of other projects ranging from aerospace industry projects to government agencies to firms of professionals, and discusses how public-private sector collaboration can be achieved through partnering. This article describes how partnering can lead to better utilization of labor, higher levels of team member collaboration, lower project costs, and lower levels of team conflict. The authors pioneer the application of risk management as a fundamental component of the partnering process.
