Abstract

Purpose of the work: Develop a management program for truck owners road freight transport Procedures / method for solving the problem: The first stage of the research involved bibliographic and documentary research to ensure proper understanding and conceptualization of the subject being studied. In the second stage, field research was conducted with interviews with experts and questionnaires were used to sample the opinion of truck owners (selfemployed drivers). The training program in management was developed on the use of the ADDIE model of instructional design whose name matches the description of the phases of the process: Analysis(Analise), Design (Projeto), Development (Desenvolvimento), Implementation (Implementacao) and Evaluation (Avaliacao). To evaluate the reaction of the participants of the training program, used the four-step model of Kirkpatrick and Kirkpatrick (2010). Results: The stages taken for the development of the research were proportional to the scope of the overall objective and of all specific goals. It also confirmed the assumptions of this research work which are that: There are good management practices that are used by companies whose terminologies used in textbooks are incompatible with the average educational level of truck owners (self-employed drivers), however, they can be adapted to their understanding 'and' entrepreneurial education can be used to transmit knowledge from the road cargo transport management to the truck owners (self-employed drivers). The difficult questions were answered. It was found that it is possible to adjust the road cargo transport management practices to the context of self-employed entrepreneurs, using the approach of entrepreneural education. Practical implications: The training program in management was aimed at truck owners whose main claims are directed to the items that make up the costs of their activity. The objective was to give the self-employed drivers, access to simplified management content, with flexibility and at the pace of each individual, depending on the time availability and the most favorable location of choice for the study. To this end, it developed teaching and instructional material. The application of the content covered in the program had a positive impact in the social, environmental and economic areas and it was observed that the instructions even solved problems common to business operation such as calculating costs and freight as well as carrying out preventive maintenance actions and to economize fuel. Originality and contributions: This work is different in structure to general training programs for self-employed drivers of transport freight based on entrepreneurial education, a topic not previously explored in other studies were presented in this dissertation. The high point of the research work is that as a contribution, there is a training program that will be permanently made available, and can still be accessed by self-employed drivers as well as any individuals interested in this topic. The technical procedures used in this research and the program contents also contribute to previous research works where there is interest in designing a training program for entrepreneurship. This research project is linked to the line scientific activities - technology - LACT 2 - Operations Management and Support Integrated Logistics. Production Technique / Technology: Technical products / technology derived from this research were four booklets and eleven videocastings which are classified on the shaft 1 do Qualis technical / technological 'products and processes.' The applicability of the training program is confirmed when analyzing the results of research carried out in which both representatives of the autonomous class as well as their own carriers confirmed the program's contribution to the solution of common problems in business operation such as calculating costs and freight. Regarding the contribution based on innovation, it is a production with low innovative content where there is existing knowledge to adapt. This is because the content of the training program was based on bibliographic and documentary survey conducted during this research. And the complexity of this research can be classified as a production with medium complexity.
