Abstract

This study aims to determine the production of cocoa beans both quality and quantity of product per ha, as well as to analyze the marketing of cocoa beans through marketing channels and marketing margins that have been implemented using survey methods. Primary data and secondary data relating to marketing channels in Juli Subdistrict, Bireuen Regency were obtained from interviews and sources from related agencies. Marketing analysis is seen from the marketing channels and marketing margins. The number of merchant samples taken in the study was determined by the snowball sampling method. The results showed that the cocoa bean production and quality of cocoa beans in the District of Juli were still low. Marketing of cocoa beans in Bireuen Regency. In terms of cocoa marketing efficiency, the results of cocoa marketing research, which have 3 types of marketing channels formed and marketing margins, show that there are different levels of profit for cocoa farmers. Type I marketing channel is the most efficient marketing channel, with a marketing efficiency value of 11.76%. Cocoa farming in Bireuen Regency has competitiveness so that it provides benefits to continue to be developed.
