Abstract
This issue of Strabismus is devoted entirely to the Eighth Annual Meeting of the Bielschowsky Gesellschaft fur Schielforschung. The Bielschowsky Gesellschaft was founded in 1985 and, despite the fact that the conference language is German, attracts many participants from outside Germany. The annual meetings are held in a three-year sequence, either in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Deutsche Ophthalmologische Gesellschaft (DOG), as a joint meeting with the Berufsverband der Orthoptistinnen Deutschlands (BOD), or as a stand-alone meeting, as was the case in Regensburg last year. Internationally renowned speakers from Europe and the USA were invited for this meeting, and more than 350 participants from Austria, Germany, England, Switzerland, Sweden and the USA attended the meeting, demonstrating the broad interest in the field.
