Abstract

Welcome to the 13th Annual Conference on Digital Government Research dg.o 2012. This year the conference is hosted again by the University of Maryland College Park. Founded in 1856, the College Park campus is the flagship institution of the University of Maryland System and is the largest campus in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Situated just outside of Washington, DC, the campus enjoys strong ties to the Federal government, and visitors can easily access the many cultural venues located in the nation's capital. This year the program shows once more that the field of digital government is thriving. Conference participants come from several Countries around the world, demonstrating our diverse and multi-disciplinary community of researchers, students, and government managers. Over the next four days, you will have a chance to listen to and engage with leading researchers and practitioners on a range of emerging, leading edge, and applied digital government projects in a number of application areas.
