Abstract
The epidemic of the COVID-19 disease presented a great threat to the public health. The SARS-CoV-2 virus is still spreading on a global level, so the accurate global number of the infected or deceased from the COVID-19 disease is yet to be estimated or correctly counted. The nurses have always played a great role in the prevention and control of infections, isolations and public health protection. The nurses' work during the COVID-19 epidemic has created a history of nursing. Nurses have been on the front line of defense from the SARSCov-2 virus for over a year now and many of them are already on the edge of endurance, both mentally and physically. The professional security is the key for the work of nurses who are facing the danger of infection on a daily basis. The aim of this paper is to show the actions and measures taken by the nurses in Republika Srpska that could help in the decrease of the global transmission of the infection. Compared with some European countries and their fight with the epidemic, Republika Srpska has maintained the number of confirmed cases on a level which can be controlled. The prevention measures are the only thing that can stop the spread of this new infectious disease. In our biggest healthcare institution of a tertiary level, a large number of COVID procedures for nurses and other healthcare workers have been released. Nurses are, together with other healthcare professionals, actively involved in the interventions around the COVID-19 and will be one of the key factors that will stop the pandemic.

Na ulazima u Unverzitetskom kliničkom centru Republike Srpske (UKC RS) (u kontejnerima), medicinske sestre provode trijažu pacijenata uz merenje temperature, te prema proceduri i potrebama uzimaju briseve za brze antigenske testove pacijentima suspektnim na COVID-19
Medicinske sestre neophodno je edukovati o korišćenju lične zaštitne opreme (LZO), higijeni ruku, dezinfekciji bolničkog odeljenja, upravljanju medicinskim otpadom i sterilizaciji uređaja za negu pacijenata i upravljanje izloženošću na radu [31]
Sva LZO se koristi isključivo za jednokratnu upotrebu, koja se nakon korišćenja odbacuje u kante za infektivni otpad, a potom transportuje u prostor za dekontaminaciju infektivnog otpada u aparatima za dezinfekciju i usitnjavanje, kako bi se krajnji produkti bezbedno odbacili u komunalni otpad

PREVENTIVNE PROCEDURE TOKOM COVID EPIDEMIJE NAMENJENE MEDICINSKIM SESTRAMA U BOLNICI ZA AKUTNU NEGU: ISKUSTVA IZ REPUBLIKE SRPSKE. Medicinske sestre su više od godinu dana na prvoj liniji odbrane od virusa SARS-CoV-2 i mnoge od njih su već na ivici izdržljivosti, kako fizičke, tako i mentalne snage. Više od godinu dana od kako su potvrđeni prvi slučajevi obolelih od COVID-19, virus SARS-CoV-2 nastavlja sa globalnim širenjem, tako da u trenutku pisanja ovog teksta ima preko sto devedeset miliona potvrđenih slučajeva (193.203.190) i više od četiri miliona smrtnih slučajeva širom sveta (4.147.564) [3,4]. Najnovija istraživanja upućuju da su medicinske sestre najčešći zdravstveni radnici inficirani virusom SARS-CoV-2 što potvrđuje hipotezu da su najviše i izložene infekciji, svakodnevno negujući kovid pacijente [11]. Zdravstveni radnici, u prvom redu, treba obavezno da poštuju preventivne mere, kao što je upotreba lične zaštitne opreme, maske za lice (N95 ili FFP2), zaštite za oči (zaštitne naočare), kombinezona i rukavica, kako bi sprečili infekciju [14, 15]
